About Our Dresses

What does custom made mean?

Our custom made dresses are cut and sewn based on each individual client's order. The color, fabric, size, and any customizations are chosen by you and each piece is made specifically for you once the order is placed.
Our dresses are custom made according to our size chart, not made to measure for an individual's unique measurements. We are proud to offer a wide size range of 000-32.

Where are Lula Kate dresses made?

All of our pieces are sewn by hand in New York City. We inspect them individually in our Charleston SC studio, and ship them to you from Charleston.

How do I know what size to order?

Please refer to our size chart to determine which size dress you should order.

What if my dress needs alterations?

We do not offer alterations. Typically, alterations must be done in person so we recommend working with a local seamstress if needed.

Where can I see Lula Kate dresses in person?

Please visit our stockist page to find your nearest retailer.

Do you have fabric swatches available?

Of course! We find swatches to be very helpful. Please click here to order specific colors and fabrics. You may also order swatches directly through a retailer.

Orders

How early should I place my order?

Our Custom dresses are cut to order and will be shipped within 10-12 weeks from the confirmed order date. We recommend having your order finalized no later than 20 weeks (5 months) from the wedding date to ensure smooth delivery with ample time for any necessary alterations.

Rush production is available and may be selected when adding your item to cart. This ensures shipment within 6-8 weeks.

Ready to Ship dresses will ship within 1-3 business days. 

Express Shipping may also be selected at checkout.

Should bridal party orders be placed together, or separately?

Orders should be placed individually by each bridesmaid so they can ship to directly to the recipient's address. If you prefer to place your order all together, please email us to arrange individual shipment, if needed.

For custom orders, we do recommend placing bridal party orders within 5-7 days of each other to ensure timely delivery for the full party.

We also recommend registering your bridal party, to ensure dye lot consistency.

Shipping Information

Swatch orders ship within 1-3 business days of order placement.

Custom dress orders ship within 12 weeks of order placement.

If needed, rush production can be added when you customize your dress to ensure delivery within 6-8 weeks.

Ready to ship dresses ship within 1-3 business days of order placement.

We offer rush and ground shipping options which can be selected at checkout. We do not offer Saturday or Sunday delivery. 

We do not provide delivery to freight forwarding companies. Unfortunately, our carriers are unable to deliver to APO/FPO addresses or P.O. boxes at this time.

What is the return policy?

Custom Dresses

Because our dresses are custom made, we do not accept returns or order cancellations. If you have placed an order you need to revise or cancel, please email us immediately for assistance. We will review our production schedule and determine whether we are able to accommodate the request.

Ready to Ship Dresses

Our ready to ship collection consists of 5 styles (Eden, Athena, Ellison, Demi, and Selena).  These dresses can be returned within 30 days of receipt for store credit or exchange only. 

A $15 restock fee will apply. Only unworn merchandise will be accepted. 

LulaKate reserves the right to deny store credit/ exchange if we determine the dress has been worn, damaged, or is in otherwise imperfect condition. Email hello@lulakate.com to request your exchange.
