LulaKate on Style Me Pretty!!

LulaKate has officially joined one of our favorite wedding blogs, Style Me Pretty, and are now a permanent edition to their Look Book. Style Me Pretty is a great resource for Brides-to-Be preparing for their big day. The blog has everything from vendor guides to wedding inspiration. They are true experts in the wedding industry and hold some great advice, from brides with huge weddings at The Four Seasons, to the small ceremony on Palm Beach. This week they did a feature exclusively on LulaKate dresses. We loved what they had to say, and are so proud to now be a permanent fixture to their site.

Another Southern Wedding…

Southern Weddings Magazine wrote a blog post featuring yet another beautiful southern wedding. This time a Kentucky wedding heavy on the bourbon! The maids looked fun, flirty and fabulous in LulaKate. The dresses were Cardinal Dupioni with Persimmon Dupioni contrasting sashes; what bright and fun colors to choose for summer! We thought the couple did a beautiful job planning their big day, and just loved the idea of a dessert bar!! We’re still trying to convince Katherine to get one of those at work… What other fabulous wedding ideas do ya’ll have??

Article on Bella Bridesmaid!

Bella Bridesmaid and the wonderful founder, Bridget Brown, were featured on Bridebound’s blog spot this week! The article explains Bridget’s vision for the first bridal boutique exclusively for brides to select chic bridesmaid collections they’re bridal party will love. LulaKate was featured in the artcile as one of the lines sold exclusively at Bella Bridesmaid. The article talks about the goal of Bella Bridesmaid as a franchise and Bridget had some great advice for brides-to-be:

“You don’t have to come to us with an exact style or color, but give us some details on what grabs you–what palettes you are drawn to, formal versus casual, clean lines versus flowy … Bring a few key decision makers but leave the entourage behind for the first appointment.”

Picking your color scheme…

Picking the Perfect Color for you Wedding….

Picking the perfect colors can be difficult and time consuming. There are so many people to please it seems as though you can’t just pick your favorite hue of purple anymore! You have to take into account your location, the season, the time of day, your maid of honors skin tones (!) and the list goes on…

We have done our research and have a few tips for you:

1. YOU have to like the color you choose.

Don’t let your bridesmaids get too opinionated!

2. Use the Internet.

There are some great wedding blogs out there with wonderful tips, one of our favorites is The Knot

3. Look at other wedding pictures.

There are dozens of real weddings on the Internet. Check out LulaKate’s Real Weddings for further inspiration.

4. Get inspired by your surroundings.

You picked the location of your wedding because it is beautiful, so why not take a look around.

5. Get creative, use colors from across the board.

Sometimes contrasting colors look the best!

A cool tool we have found is this color palette from Brides.com. If you are completely clueless as to what you want you can spin the wheel to get general color schemes; and for those girls with a more narrowed idea you can select a color family to search within.

And don’t forget, in the end you are the one framing these pictures and putting them on your mantel. So make sure you are happy with what you have selected- the rest is just background noise!!
